Leadership Spotlight: Kyle Pisula
Kyle Pisula joined SubroSmart as a Senior Subrogation Specialist and Forensics Expert following his tenure with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. Today, he leads SubroSmart’s Transportation Recovery Team, applying prosecutorial insight, investigative rigor, and strategic leadership to complex commercial motor claims.
Kyle’s career spans legal practice, law enforcement, and advanced forensic investigation. At the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office, he served as a Senior Criminal Investigator specializing in white-collar crime and digital forensics, spearheading investigations involving organized fraud, embezzlement, identity theft, and complex analysis of mobile and computer data.
His earlier experience includes working as a criminal investigator with the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Fraud Unit, where he focused on insurance-related crimes, and conducting attorney-misconduct investigations for the State Bar of Texas. Before entering the investigative field, Kyle practiced as a criminal defense attorney in Washington State, strengthening his litigation strategy and legal analysis skills.
Kyle holds a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)—credentials that reinforce his technical expertise and investigative depth.

Supporting Kyle’s leadership is Melissa Lane, who brings more than 20 years of claims experience and eight years of specialized expertise within SubroSmart’s transportation recoveries. Melissa’s experience and consistency form the backbone of the team’s day-to-day success.
